Groups are your personal networks. Anyone can create a group and invite others to join either by typing their username or email address. You can then create events, contact all your group members, send out newsletters, share with other users what your group is doing, and much more. Groups are one of the best ways to unite people together and keep everyone informed.
To grow your group, you can send invitations directly from your group home page. You can invite up to 10 users at a time, and can enter either their email address or username if they are already a member of CMU. This way they will automatically become a member of the group when they sign up.
Another way to invite members is to invite from the site-wide page Invite a friend. You can enter as many emails as you want. You should also instruct them to join your group after they join CMU.
Once your group has many members, you should keep people informed by sending out a regular email. Update your homepage with information about your group and what you're doing. Create events to put on the calendar. You can also network with other groups and work together for your cause!
