The venom of Internet Pornography is slowly killing the spiritual life of millions of Christian fathers. At every Catholic men's conference I have spoken at over the past four years, I have encountered men addicted to Internet pornography.

Anti-Porn Groups Urge Pastors and Americans to Speak Out Against Pornography

During the 20th annual "White Ribbon Against Pornography Week" (WRAP), which runs Oct. 26 to Nov. 2, Americans are being called to speak out on the detrimental effects of pornography and inform others about ways to remove the "garbage" from the lives of families and local communities.

For one week, people are also asked to wear or display a white ribbon in solidarity against pornography.
WRAP Week is being promoted by y in Media (MIM), Concerned Women for American (CWA) and American Mothers.

Anti-porn Groups Push New DVD

Anti-pornography groups are pushing a DVD that is intended to help families recognize the trappings of pornography.

The DVD, "Pornography -- The Great Lie: A Guide for Latter-day Saint Families," was presented Thursday at a roundtable discussion hosted by the Utah Coalition Against Pornography and Bishop George H. Niederauer of the Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City.

Civil liberties, publishing and other groups have filed a federal challenge to a Utah law that requires Internet service providers to give customers software filters for blocking pornographic Web sites.

Their lawsuit claims that many websites deemed harmful to minors share the same computer servers and internet addresses as unrelated sites that contain no pornography, and blocking one site can block them all.

WASHINGTON -- Dozens of anti-pornography groups asked the U.S. Congress to force the Pentagon to keep sexually related material from being sold in military stores.

Pornographic material was banned from being sold in military establishments nearly 10 years ago, but Christian group American Family Association claimed that adult fare, including Penthouse and Playboy material, is still being sold in the stores, USA Today reported Monday.

Group asks American Airlines to install anti-porn filters for in-flight internet

An organization called Girls Against Porn has sent a letter to American Airlines asking that the company filter pornographic sites from its in-flight internet service. Citing concerns for children and other passengers, the group warns that passengers who view pornography could create security risks and provoke lawsuits.

“The airlines are taking a risk, opening themselves up to lawsuits from customers who are exposed to porn or the effects,” the letter states.
